Your uploads belong to your gift. We use them to prepare and deliver the surprise you choose.

Who can see a gift?

You control the recipient link and optional secret code. Gift pages are excluded from search engines. Anyone you give access to may save or record what they see; a secret code cannot prevent that.

Your photos, videos, and voice

Uploaded media is stored privately and delivered through authorized, signed access. Photos are optimized and location metadata is removed. We do not use customer memories as public demos or advertising without explicit permission.

Writing assistance

If AI assistance is enabled, the names, writing language, tone, the short “about them” note and the text you ask us to improve or translate are sent to the configured AI provider for that one suggestion. Photos are sent only when you press “Suggest captions” and allow it: small copies of the photos without captions go to the provider once, to write captions. Videos and voice notes are never sent. The “about them” note stays with your draft and is never shown to the recipient. You choose whether to use any suggestion.

Hosting and deletion

Your package states the hosting duration. Deleting a gift revokes access immediately. Expired and deleted gift media is queued for permanent removal after a 30-day recovery period. Backup copies follow the operator’s backup retention schedule.

Accounts and cookies

We use essential cookies for buyer sign-in and recipient access. Passwords and secret codes are stored as salted hashes. Payment card details are handled by the payment provider.

If you start a surprise before creating an account, what you type is kept only in this browser so a refresh doesn’t lose it. It is removed once your draft is saved to your account, and secret codes are never kept there.

Measuring what works

To improve Wishly we count a few anonymous steps, such as “a sample was opened” or “a link was shared”, as daily totals. We store no cookie, identifier, IP address, name, message or photo for this, and a browser that sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control is not counted at all.
